Camden 9th – 10th February 08

U17 Men’s Sabre & Women’s Sabre

Thursday, 10 January 2008

Please read all of this letter carefully.

As most of you will know the final cadet international of the season is Camden. This letter is going out only to the top 25 cadets (on the selection rankings) & you should all enter this competition. This event is open to all fencers born 91 or on. You can always find the up-to-date rankings at www.sabrerankings.com.)

Congratulations for the competition results that have put you on the national squad lists.

There will be a limited number of British entries accepted (last year the limits in the individual events were not reached so all fencers who entered by the closing date got to fence). Entry will be guaranteed for all British fencers in the top 25 of the 1st January selection list IF they enter by the closing date (18th Jan). There is an online entry list on the Camden club web site. The list of the top 25 fencers is at the end of this letter.

The entry form is at: http://www.camdenfencingclub.org.uk/competitions/camdencadet/camden_cadet_entry_form_2008.html

Any fencers who have not entered will be able to enter late if there is space in the competition. The limit is 84 fencers in each event, the up-to-date entry list is available at http://www.camdenfencingclub.org.uk/

British fencers will not need to enter the team event yet. I will enter 4 British teams for MS & WS, any fencers not involved in these will be free to make up club teams & enter directly. Again there will be a limited number of team entries accepted. Details of the British teams are on the cadet page at www.fencingcoach.net.

The teams are at the end of this letter. Please can all the fencers named below email me to confirm they have entered the individual event & are available for the team event, latest details are here. British fencers in the 4 teams should arrive at the venue by 9:30am.

For email notification of each change to the information about this event you should subscribe to the Camden thread at www.fencingforum.com, make sure you have “Instant Email Notification” selected as the Default Thread Subscription Mode on the Edit Options tab in the User CP. If you don’t know what all this means ASK.

Please try & encourage your coach to attend this competition if they do not normally travel to events with you. It’s a rare chance to see strong foreign cadet fencers in the UK.

You will not need FIE equipment for this event.

Please contact me (preferably by email) if you have any questions.
